What is Anemia?

From my online reading, I have learned that anemia may cause me to feel tired or to fatigue easily. I have also read that anemia is the condition where my body has less than the normal number of red blood cells or less than the normal quantity of hemoglobin in the blood, meaning my blood carries less oxygen and therefore I feel tired. Is that a correct reading of the literature?

  1. Is my chronic illness causing me to feel tired?
  2. Do I have anemia? [link to patient_probanemia.html]
  3. What is aplastic anemia?
  4. What is the difference between acquired aplastic anemia and congential aplastic anemia?

What is my Red Blood Cell Count?

  1. If I have anemia, is my anemia caused by deficient red blood cell production or from less hemoglobin in my blood?
  2. What is my actual red blood cell count?
  3. How often should I have my blood cell count checked?

What are Anabolic Steroids?

  1. What are anabolic steroids?
  2. How can anabolic steroids help my anemia?
  3. Are anabolic steroids safe to take with my chronic condition and my other medications?

Is Anadrol-50 right for me?

I have read online that Anadrol-50 increases the production of erythropoietin (EPO) which is a chemical in my body that in turn can increase the production of new red blood cells. Is this correct? What does this mean exactly? I have also read that some other brands, like Aranesp®, Epogen®, and Procrit®, have FDA safety warnings while Anadrol-50 does not. Is this correct?

  1. Would Anadrol-50 be right for me?
  2. How often should I take Anadrol-50?
  3. Are there any FDA safety warnings for Anadrol-50?
  4. Are there any side effects of Anadrol-50 I should be aware of?
  5. What should I do if I experience side effects?
  6. Can I take Anadrol-50 with my other medications?
  7. How often should I get refills?
  8. When should I schedule a follow-up visit to check on my treatment and progress?
